Keynote Speaker, Theme Announced for Humanities and Social Sciences Conference

Gannon University’s College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (CHESS) is excited to announce the theme and keynote speaker for their upcoming NWPA Humanities and Social Sciences Conference, taking place on Friday, March 28, 2025.

The theme of the conference will correlate with this year’s CHESS Speaker Series theme, The Decades Tour. This is aligned with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s centennial in 2025 and focuses on each of our rich histories and the anticipation of exciting opportunities on the horizon in our local and global communities.

Conference planners are excited to welcome keynote speaker Dr. J. Camille Dempsey, to the upcoming event. Dr. Dempsey serves as the director of the PennWest Center for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies. As a cultural theorist and the founder of the Theory of Virtuality Culture, she has investigated intersections between technology, generative AI and contemporary culture and is recognized internationally for her work in educational technology in education. 

Proposal submissions for the conference are open through Friday, Dec. 6. The conference is accepting proposals for paper presentations, panels and workshop sessions in the humanities and social sciences.
