Three programs in Gannon University’s Villa Maria School of Nursing were recently awarded the maximum 10-year accreditation period from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The bachelor of science in nursing, the master of science in nursing and the APRN certificate programs were granted accreditation through Dec. 31, 2034. These awards follow an extensive review of the program’s self-study and an on-site evaluation visit conducted by the CCNE in March of 2024.
The CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices.
“The accreditation awards received from the CCNE for these three nursing programs demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality of education for our students,” said Kimberly Cavanagh, DHSc, PA-C, dean of the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences. “We are proud to continue our decades-long history of excellence in the Villa Maria School of Nursing.”
